Its his preference. I don't mind the white guys in the sets, I'm also not really focused on them. I think whoever is in the set should be there to enhance the scene for the girl. It raises the question whether he feels the same about white dudes. Since he mentioned "black" there seems to be a bias here, but it looks more like a personal preference than a racial prejudice. Hard to tell without probing his mind further. Probably not worth the bother.
