Why single out TGirls ? Where does old "anyone" go ? The answer is that it depends on what you've built for yourself in your earlier years. You need a good education, good work history, self-discipline, and don't forget to take good care of your body. With all that you can have a pretty decent old age. But if you squander your life you'd better hope the government safety net is still intact, which it increasingly doesn't look like it will be (in the USA).

I guess the underlying assumption of the thread is that since TGirls generally have a harder life, then old TGirls may have it very rough. I don't think that needs to be the case, depending on your family support structure and how determined you are.

Ummmm Im sure he singled them out because this is a forum about transgenders for one, and for two, we have a hard enough time finding girls when theyre younger. I rarely see an older TS. Thirdly, we constantly hear about issues with trans women in the work place, or even being able to get a job in the first place, so Im actually half way curious myself what half of them do when they get older or what type of financial security they have in place.

My bio mom has been retired for going on 2 years now, and so far has gone to Jamaica, Austria, and headed to Nigeria this month since officially retiring from all forms of employment. Former Army/former postal worker.

On the other hand, my 'trans' mother has spent the past few years just chilling with her family, taking trips here and there to places she's never been in the USA and it's territories. Worked at Walmart off and on, but primarily escorted.

Both are in their late 50's and early 60's.

Besides, I occasionally bring up topics in various threads that relate to another. For example, I can't let it rest that some (thank god not many) people on this forum think that trans women working jobs and not sex work is impossible.
