ive known several who because of the fact that they never really found work their whole adult lives have no absolutely no work experience,combined with maybe a charge or two that never got expunged,leaves them working "under the table" literally and figuratively...ive seen maids and office cleaners,and old sugar daddies "personal assistants"...also in new orleans there used to be a small mansion that was a rooming house for the "retired" ts..esplanade ave and rampart..

I'd advise anyone, male or female to get their reecords sealed or the cases
expunged. It is fairly simple to do, particularly if the charge is minor or the
case is old.

With Social Security going under, companies plundering pension funds, and
people living longer, we are more and more apt to see people working into
their latter "golden" years.

But I got to tell you, I wouldn't look forward to being a 60, 70, 80 year old
maid or office cleaner. Not that I feel that I am too good for manual labor,
but rather I wouldn't / couldn't want to put my body through the physical
demands of such an occupation.

As long as I don't get "old timers disease" I hope to use my mind to earn for
me, and to "work smart, not hard".

I have a blood aunt who is post -op and is 64 yrs old ,she is retired from nursing yet still works occasionally to stay active , and could actually pass for a woman in her 40's.Hopefully I will be able to travel and live a nice lifestyle like her in my future! And there are plenty of older Ts in Atlanta where I'm from that seem to be doing quite well.

You need a good education, good work history, self-discipline, and don't forget to take good care of your body. With all that you can have a pretty decent old age. But if you squander your life you'd better hope the government safety net is still intact, which it increasingly doesn't look like it will be (in the USA).

I guess the underlying assumption of the thread is that since TGirls generally have a harder life, then old TGirls may have it very rough. I don't think that needs to be the case, depending on your family support structure and how determined you are.

In my opinion there's no reason that a transwomans life should be any different than anyone else's.
