I'm gonna admit to being a lazy ass and not reading every post in this thread, so I apologize if there's anything redundant here. But I get both sides of the DL issue. Personally, I live by the philosophy that you don't fuck anyone you'd be embarrassed to be seen with, but at the same time, it can be a little more complicated in practice than it is in theory, because there are so many factors to consider, and society at large is just so uneducated about everything. One thing that people kinda gloss over is that trans-attracted men weren't born attracted to t-girls. So especially for a guy that previously never had any homosexual desires, and given what seems to be most women's aversion to bisexual men, isn't it somewhat understandable for him to be hesitant about openly dating t-girls? Do you go out on a limb and date an attractive but still very socially unacceptable t-girl at the risk of being shunned by genetic women? That's a real concern. And I don't see a lot of support for the trans-attracted man, or even any strong examples or role models they can look to to let them know that a "normal" life and an open relationship can be balanced successfully. I can't speak for everyone, but personally I was freaked the fuck out (and that's an understatement) when I realized I was attracted to t-girls, and much of that was because there were NO reliable sources or people to talk to to let me know I wasn't crazy (closest I could find was some psychology articles about how guys only mess with t-girls due to some repressed homosexual desire, which just fucked my head up more). And you get so many anti-gay/anti-bi messages thrown in your face on a regular basis that it can be very tough to deal with. This isn't to say that being on the DL is right per se, but the choice to date a t-girl openly isn't some lightweight decision; there can be a lot of complex issues going on there and, again, not a lot of support.

At the same time, people can't be educated about the subject if no one's open about it, and I don't think being open is as hard as folks make it out to be. I voluntarily told my family about my attraction to t-girls, and even though they gave me a problem about going out with a girl over the summer, it died down, and it hasn't been that much of a big deal. I've openly gone out with a couple of t-girls and the biggest issue I've had publicly was a waiter trying to talk to my girl right in front of me. And I've even discussed t-girls with a couple of female friends of mine, and thus far haven't run into any issues there either. I won't act like I'm walking around wearing "I love t-girls" shirts or anything as far as being open, so I'm far from the best example, but from my experience, no matter how much shit people talk, if they really care about you, they'll be there for you no matter what. In most cases, it's not like people are gonna be that deeply invested in your sex life for it to be an issue, and realistically, TS porn is among the more popular categories of porn out there, so there's a strong possibility that a lot of people whose opinions you're worried about are into it themselves.

Well, not all white people live in the suburbs. I've come across all kinds of inner-city dwelling working class whites who are unapologetically anti-gay. Also I went to high school in a suburban white community, and they've definitely got their shit with them too.

The Baptist Church was black folks foundation in America once upon a time. It was our governing body. It was one with the black community the pillar of our society. So we learned there was raised there was cared for there was defended there how soon do folks forget... or either have no clue..... most if not all of our civil rights leaders where ministers, hmmmmmm.... You can choose to be and do what you want but there are facts out there that may stop you Dead in your deeds and make you rethink your entire way of life. And so the intolerance among our culture stem from those teachings of the church and the close ties from generations of folk who came up through the church by way of struggle or religious belief.
