Given: 3/0I wonder, can the pictures be downloaded at least? Your statement rings true, as I don't care so much about downloading videos when porn is concerned as I like looking at the pictures better.
This is the exact explanation I use to justify downloading shows from newsgroups. I do pay for cable tv though I actually cut the cord and don't have any TV's directly connected to cable. I download via PC and stream to my media center to watch on TV.
Once upon a time, I could record all the TV shows I wanted via VCR and it wasn't considered piracy. I could listen to the radio and record songs played via cassette tape. Nothing has changed but the technology used to capture the media, and now all of sudden I'm a pirate. No, it's fair use, so long as I'm not rebroadcasting to the masses or distributing/reselling it around. These are practically an American tradition, who didn't record their favorite shows back in the day on VHS?

Given: 0/0That's a interesting point... But when people subcribe to a pay channel - whether its content is porn/sports/drama etc - they do not expect to "own" or "store" its output.... I might subscribe to a sports channel for a few months, enjoy the output, then unsubscribe, job done... Storage is not a consideration at any point in the transaction.
However, when a business arranges to take a specific product to the market - a dvd, a magazine, a porn scene - people trade with them so as to obtain that specific product.
I can agree that product stored in the ether of webspace is a grey area here.... but ultimately it just feels all wrong to me.
Put it this way....... If/when SMC produce their own pay channel on my Hi-Def 42 inch TELEVISION, then I would probably take a dip in the water every now and then...
Until that time comes, they are not a pay channel, they are a website... And the reason I subscribe to a website is to view its content and download it if I choose.... If I dont have that choice, then they dont have my $s.
On the positive side, if porn websites act as a cartel and take this cynical step, it will be just the reality-kick I probably need to re-evaluate my spending habits lol

Being part of the network is not some "sign" that a site is doing poor because I have two in them and my solo site for instance is very stable..........So not sure why being part of the network with the same cut of say an affiliate sale is a sign of something wrong .
Also Franklin you know NOTHING about trafffic if you think Alexia is some instrument too whats going on, as Seanchai said. Also its a new site so of course its going to have less traffic ITS NEW.

In itself it's not Wendy but and this is only MY observation based on my experience in business but when a very new site such as this, which obviously costs a lot to produce, can be accessed at discounts, then it's not meeting the budget expectations otherwise, why do it?
For established sites such as yours, I see the benefits or introducing a new traffic source and taking the affiliate cut back into the network.
Either way, I don't think it's only related to streaming content - but I do think the streaming content only, in it's current format, is problematic.

Given: 0/0You're right that it is new. I should give it some time. Maybe a year?
There are way too many people on board complaining about this. SMC should at least let loyal members download content. The content is still appearing all over illegal sites. There is no just reason at this point to keep it stream only. It is impossible to stop pirates.

Given: 0/0I've been trying to watch scenes on this site and everything is loading way too slow. If I wasn't a member of the SMC Network then I would be viewing other things. It simply isn't worth it.

Yea its almost Impossible to stop the pirates!! If A pirate really wants to pirate streaming content then they will! A smart enough hacker or code breaker will jus make or find another new program that will get the job done to download the content! So doing all that to prevent piracy is just pointless in my opinion....
