If you know that Black people are moved by music (and we are!), why on God's green earth would you not have music playing during the erotic videos?

i think it has to do with copyright issues for the music used

There are some very talented free lance musicians within the LGBT community who would be more than gracious to sign practically all rights to BTG or Grooby Productions.

There are also some young upstarts who can write, play, and mix music. Most are not associated with this venue, though. Of course, that's why we have agents!

Most people want to hear actually what is going on and not drowned out by some music.
What should we play? Soul, Rap, Hiphop, Rock? People are different - I don't want to hear music with my porn

There are certain songs that have an aire of sexy seduction about them regardless as to which genre they emanate from. There are many soft jazz tunes that could be played ever so softly in the background.

Cinema realized years ago, that the scenes were always characterized with greater emotion when music accompanied those scenes.

If you checkout xxxxxxxxx.com, their erotic scenes are almost always accompanied by music. As a matter of fact, I can't remember observing any erotic scene from them that didn't have music.

Black T-Girls, in my opinion would be immensely improved with music accompanied videos. The deep breathing and moaning can always be turned up or the background music can always be turned down via volume control, but there's no doubt about it, music would add another dimension to the scenes.

There are several soft jazz programs that accentuate the theme of romance or love-making during their shows. They always manage to find mostly jazz and some soul music to infuse into their romantic programs. These music selections come complete with the expectation and feeling that some serious sex or romance is about to take place. Usually, when these types of shows are over, the listener will feel as though they've missed something if they were alone. They feel lonely.

However, with Grooby Productions, the observer doesn't have to feel that way because, however the person observing the T-girl on video is being stimulated, will be already occuring while the music is playing and intensifying the scene. This therefore, will be making the observers viewing pleasure, even more enjoyable!

Well, that's just my $00.02!

PS.

I won't bring it up anymore because I can clearly see that it could potentially be a point of contention. It's just something that's been eating at my craw for sometime...

As a former university student of film I also disagree with this somewhat. Depending on the scene portrayed realsitic sounds or in fact silence can have a greater emotive effect. I would agree music works in moments of suspense but it is by no means integral.

When it comes to porn as is used as a 'sex aide' realism is what the audience wants in my opinion. So when it comes to sound natural sounds e.g moans and groans etc are best, The only time music works is to drown out annoying fan and a/c noises or during booty shaking scenes and sometimes in Buddy's shoots. Also back in the day when the photogs use DV cams without HD or HDV they sometimes forgot to turn on the mic so put music on the vids

All in all, I'd rather hear the model and/or what is going on in the scene instead of blaring music layover. Music used strategically to inspire the model to shake the azz or whatever I could deal with but hell if she can or is willing to do the azz shakin it w/o tunes I'm cool with it. :D

Seems like in the past, music had more negative responses (for one reason or another). I tried briefly to get (copyright free) music reintroduced to my videos, but the way I wanted it edited into videos couldn't be done cheaply and effectively so it's not that serious. I try to coach the girls into being talkative so that there is minimal silence throughout the video, doesn't always work but I try. Alternatively, you can play your own music whilst watching the clips if you find the audio particularly boring.

Psychologically speaking, I've personally noticed that whenever love-making, I am completely intuned with my partner and the immediate stimuli which surrounds us. Usually, a candle burning, inspires and stimulates the two of us visually in some way. Clean satin sheets with their smooth texture, always somehow enhances the sense of touch felt by my hands, legs, and feet during intense copulation. It's even better when I've place whipped cream upon her thighs, so that I can lick it off, thus stimulating the sense of taste. Finally, there's always the welcomed moaning and screaming as she's climaxes again and again. Everytime that I hear the sounds from her, it just seems to stimulate me even more.

For me, the more the senses are stimulated, the more pleasurable the sexual experience becomes. Playing mood music during erotic moments for me, is like priming the well before filling the many buckets of love.

I don't know! Heck! I've always been different...

I think that was a reference to Miyako in which during an interview she mentioned 'sipping tea' among other things, at least that's what came to mind when I saw that post.

I think music during a solo jacking scene is a bit cheesy...play slipknot or chopsticks to the money$hot ? No thanks would ruin the mood.

Can't really say that I watch alot of porn of any genre, but I do feel that
often-times production values need to be stepped up, and would advocate
for increased use of music.

I'm sure that I'm somewhat in the minority, particularly as a woman, and that
I desire some semblance of a plot, and perhpas elements of foreplay, and
feigned romance, and not merely the usual "wham, bam, thank you mamn".

I also realize that this would increase production costs, and that most viewers
want to cut to the chase and the inevitable money shot.

So I guess I'll just shoot my own erotica. :D

I try to coach the models and get them comfortable with talking to the camera. It's not that easy especially with the new girls. If you could see my behind the scenes, lol sometimes I've even had queue cards but I don't use those anymore so all girls aren't saying the same damn thing lol.

Peggygee,

Cool, may take you up on that. ;)

I wanted to flesh out my thoughts on the differences between erotica, and porn and have borrowed from a few sources to make the disctinction.

Their comments are in blue:

Erica Jong states, ‘Erotica celebrates the erotic nature of the human creature…and does so artfully, dramatically. Pornography on the other hand, serves simply as an aid to masturbation, with no artistic pretension and no artistic value.’

Roxanne Rhoads states, "To me porn is usually visual and geared towards men. Its sole purpose is to physically arouse and stimulate. I have nothing against porn, it serves its purpose, but erotica goes much deeper. Erotica appeals more to women and is often written by and for women even though there are both male and female writers and readers".

"To me erotica can be much more real, while porn is often very unrealistic. Erotica can also tell a more complete story. If you read a regular novel about a married couple or a couple in love, it does not tell the whole story of their relationship because the sex scenes are often omitted or glossed over. In erotica you can get the whole story including the steamy sex scenes. Erotica stimulates the mind and the body, arousing emotions and the imagination".

"I believe that the key differences between erotica and porn are emotion and empathy. In erotica the writer exhibits respect for all their characters. There is a motivation for them to act as they do, and they are portrayed as living, feeling beings, with an existence above and beyond their sexuality. Even if all you see in the scene described is sex, you are aware of the characters being people. There is likely to be at least an intimation of a relationship between the characters".

"In porn, one or more of the characters is liable to exist solely to fuck, to be fucked, or to be the subject of fantasies about fucking. There is no feeling of connection to, or respect for, this (these) character(s)"

As I mentioned upthread, I watch very little porn, it leaves me high and dry, but erotica renders me soaking wet.
