Slow Slow Slow BTG Downloads!!!

Just curious but are any of the west coast BTG members getting rediculously slow download speeds from Black-Tgirls.com??? I'm talking about less than 75KB/sec slow and it doesn't matter what time of the day, WTF??? Mr. Seanchai if you happen to have an explanation sir an answer would greatly be appreciated. I mean downloading takes forever out here. And before you ask I have Comcast high speed internet and I was downloading porn from another website with a consistent download speed of 1.5MB/SEC and maxed out at around 2.3MB/SEC. What gives???

And i'm not talking about just one day, this has been slow since I moved out here a month ago.

That dl speed you are getting is ridiculously slow. Can other people please let me know what they are getting?

Thanks for the feedback Seanchai and I really don't know why everything is so slow on my end. Like I said downloading content from other sites is extremely fast but BTG is sloooowwww! I just downloaded a 700mb movie on my home wireless connection and had an average download speed of 800kb/sec and now I'm downloading another vid from BTG and it's averaging 50kb/sec.:mad:

Typically when I downloaded from BTG in the previous states that I've lived in I will get average download speeds between 300kb-500kb which is OK, not great, but OK. Do you all place bandwidth restrictions on customers accounts or something, have I been blacklisted, lol???

I'm in the Bay Area and the less than 100kb/sec is not cutting it. I just want to get the most out of my membership. If you all figure it out please let me know, thanks Chief!

Actually yesterday I was getting really slow download speeds as well (about a 100Kb/sec.). But that is an anomaly.

On another note, you bankrollin' and staying at the Holiday Inn? :rolleyes: :p

Try a tracert command from your windows command prompt (cmd) to www.black-tgirls.com and check for any 'hops' that time out or have a ping of more than 150ms. This would indicate a problem with a node that comcast use. I belive the btg server is in Europe somewhere so your requests will travel a certain route which might have issues. If this problem
occurs it will be an issue with comcast. Also you will find that this effects you in your current location only. Reporting it to comcast should mean they fix it but it usually takes them between a few days and a week before they realise a node is down so it shouldn't be too much to worry about as they normally fix the issue without anyone having to complain.

Oh and I forgot to add to perform a tracert in this case after you open cmd you type 'tracert www.black-tgirls.com' without the quotes.

Thanks for the advice, I ran the cmd function that you recommended and I saw that on the second line of code that something "timed out". I've attached a screen shot maybe this stuff makes more sense to you. So what exactly should I tell Comcast when I explain this to them??? I don't want to tell them that I am having problems downloading BTG porn and can they fix it on their end, lol!!! So what's the technical lingo that I need to tell them??? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes the server is in Amsterdam.
No I'm not in the Holiday Inn ... but I know who is ;-)

Try the same tracert on millenniumtga.com - you can then contact comcast and ask them what the problem is (if the result is the same which I suspect it is) - they are on the same server.

PS - we do actually have a download limit but it's rarely reached (a few times in a year) and more to stop people ripping the site or doing an attack on it.

Hi,

There have been some reports of a DNS issue affecting some ISP's on the west coast although this shouldn't impact the download speed it does appear to be somehow related to this issue.

I'll explain a little.

The correct IP address for BTG is 62.93.229.147 but some IPS's appear to be reporting it as a different IP - 208.68.139.89

I would appreciate any more tracert outputs or ping outputs to help us narrow down this problem.

Sorry i havent replied for a few days I have been pretty busy. Anyway, your tagged image is too small bujrocks, but I will say if your are getting a time out at hop 2 then you definately have a problem with your ISP and personally I'm suprised you dont encounter these kind of problems on other websites. The second hop is the very first external destination your request goes to which, means in your case that the problematic node is probably in California so I am pretty sure comcast is aware as I expect other customers to have reported this already.

I also did a quick reverse lookup for 208.68.139.89 and this appears to be a server belonging to the road runner ISP. The server comes back with the address twcdns.fastsearch.net and is located in Needam Heights in Boston. I would assume this is a one of the logical 'hops' ping requests will follow coming in from the west coast. I'm currently in the UK and i cannot ping this server as it times out on all requests. This may well be the time out that bujrocks experienced but I wouldn't expect a server in Boston to be the first hop after his router. Anyway this server is definately down so it will affect the connection speeds of anyone who's ISP uses this server.

For your reference Neil I can ping BTG just fine a reach the server in eight external hops with an average ping of <50ms so no problems from here :D

The problem hasn't been fixed on my end, I just tried downloading another video and i'm still getting less than 100kb/sec speed (averaging 55kb/sec) on BTG.

So the problem continues. I just called Comcast and they said that they don't use "tracert" to troubleshoot the problems but they did check all of my connections from their end to my home and said everything was great. Next the service guy had me do a ISP speed test and I was downloading at 20Mbps and uploading a 4.7Mbps on my wireless connection. So basically he said that there is nothing they can do on their end.

So that brings me back to the original issue, is the problem on Grooby's servers and how do we fix this so that people can get full download speeds.

I can assure you that your fault lies with comcast. Unfortunately technical staff at ISPs can be a bit of a pain. They have very limited technical training and often stick to a script of diagnostics given to them by management. Tracert is a valid networking diagnostic tool and is an essential tool when troubleshhoting the kind of problems you have. It is very likely that the operative at comcast told you that they don't use tracert because he/she doesn't know what it is.

When visiting any website your request will go via a number of servers before reaching the website destination this will always differ depending on location and ISP. The fact that the second hop or node times out suggests that the faulty server is nearby and may be owned by comcast. It would also suggest that you would encounter the same problem when visiting other websites namely ones stored on servers in Europe. You could test this by pinging a few google extensions like google.co.uk, google.fr and google.de or any other European website. If my assumption is correct the ping request will comeback with an average higher than 100ms or timeout.

Also I am also almost 100% certain that if you tried to dl a video using a similar connection in your area but via a different provider you would be fine. I believe that the free wifi in all mcdonalds 'restaurants' have a 2-4 Mbps connection so if you tested there you would get 100-300 kb/s proving this statement. Either way what you have reported strongly suggests a problem with your provider.

The fact that Comcast does not want to use tracert's might indicate they know they have problems.
