Barney Frank introduced Trans-Included Legislation for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act back in April of 2007. It has since been the object of one committee hearing after the next. It is now time to pass this most significant legislation so that both gays and the transgendered can successfully seek gainful employment, adequate healthcare, and decent housing all over the United States without being discriminated against.

It is currently legal within 29 states for your employer to fire you for being gay, outright. It's as simple as, " Hey you! Your gay! I have proof, and you're fired!" There's no hearing! There's no union representative or attorney who will be available to defend you. It will be an instant wrap!

It is also legal to fire or deny hiring the transgendered in 38 states here in our country, simply for them being who they really are as human beings! I often wonder, just exactly how many transgender people would be escorts, call girls, and prostitutes, if they had viable employment alternatives. We need the backing of the federal government to protect these people, immediately!

With ENDA passing, fewer transgender people would have to take to the streets for a living or have to rely upon the entertainment industry for a bleak livelihood. The transgenders desparately need their civil rights protected just like everyone else. They most certainly are no less human than the rest of us. So let's write our congress people and encourage others to do the same, so that we can get ENDA passed ASAP.

Thank you all!

Love,
