Next Saturday, November 20th, will be The Transgender Day of Remembrance, an occassion set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. Many cities around the world are holding events or vigils and if you can possibly attend one of these and show your support, then I urge you to do so. The more exposure that these hate crimes against transgenders get, then the more likely it is, that something will be done about it. Please visit Transgenderdor.org (http://www.Transgenderdor.org) for a list of events.

We at Grooby will be donating all new sales (and any subsequent rebills) on Nov 20th to a transgender charity (charities) for our sites Shemale Yum, Black Tgirls and Shemale Pornstar. If there is anyway you can get involved at all, please do!

I was chatting with someone about transrights and activism on another forum, and was reminded of a post I had previously made:

Having grown up in an era of civil unrest and political change, I have activism, and empathy for the rights of all people deeply ingrained in me. Today, people may feel that they would like to do something to bring about change for justice and equality, but are so overwhelmed or unsure that they become paralyzed with inaction.

An example may be transwomen and their SOFFAs (significant others, family, friends, and admirers), who no doubt would like to aid the plight of transwomen but may be reluctant to march in protests, or have alot of time to participate in activist organizations. Interestingly activism can be carried out in many forms.

Speaking to your legislators is a form of activism, a letter or email will suffice. Perhaps you could donate to agencies that promote transrights. Educating people about the transgendered is another form of activism, indeed there are many large and small ways to be a force for change.

Here are some from our friends at Wikipedia:

Saturday 20th Nov. was the Transgender Day of Remembrance. Thank you to everyone who joined Shemale Yum, Black Tgirls and Shemale Pornstar that day, your membership fee and any rebills will be going to a transgender charity to be determined (watch this space).
Please remember, that these fantastic models that we present are only a small part of the transgender world and that world is often difficult and sometimes dangerous to be part of. Along with our fantasties of tgirl models, everybody should be aware of many of the realities. Take a look at: Transgenderdor.org (http://www.transgenderdor.org) for more information.

I know I give you shit a lot, but I have to admit that this was a great gesture that is a potentially sizable amount of cash. Good going! ;)

That character in The Simpsons is more of a caricature of the man in the picture who is Boss Hogg from the tv show Dukes of Hazards.

Oh! I always heard the name Boss Hogg but I never saw The Dukes of Hazard so I didn't know who that was. Thanks.
