how do ts activist and orgs veiw ts porn/industry?

I noticed that there are some women who have done ts porn but are now working as ts activist or work for lgbt rights groups. I'm just wondering how they view the ts porn industry?
Do companies like grooby give to or support any transsexual orgs or groups? Just thinking...

Are there any groups that help ts women make the transition to normal life once their 15 minutes of fame is up on the net? Real talk.

I don't thing transgenders rights/activism and porn are mutually exclusive (in that somebody can support both) and for our company, we've certainly tried to be as empowering to the actual transgenders as we can in terms of the types of models we hire and the overall ethos. However, one cannot get away from the fact that this is porn and not all of it may site well with some.

We don't currently give to any TS charity as I don't know of one which seems good to give, we actually have quite a bit sitting here for when the right one comes along.

We have given recently to Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and a few other, child trafficing charities though.

Cool. Thanks for chiming in. Its crazy because I see so many older ts who used to be the it girls are now strung out or turning tricks for 50 bucks on backpage. Just wondering how a chick can make go from making 1000 a day (I don't know what a ts escort/porn girl makes, just guessing) living the high life to living back in the ghetto barely getting by?

I wonder if its really just a lack of having a good plan b?

Is it drugs (which seems prevalent amongst young ts)?

You know the news types would say that its probably some sort of extortion...I watched some msnbc special on prostituion in america and basically made it seem like every escort/prostitute in america is there not of their own free will...I call bullshit.

Probably the same way the NAACP views Hiphop. Many of them understand it but it doesn't make their jobs any easier.

However charities and donations are likely ways of bridging the gap.

I would say that there will be a wide range of views and opinions on the
trans porn industry, and to those women that are engaged in the sex trade.

There will be some organizations and individuals that are vehemently against
it, as they perceive it to be exploitive of the the transcommunity and that it
sets the movement for transrights back.

Then there are others that will have no problem with it whatsoever, and feel
that a woman is the ultimate decsion maker when it comes to choices she
makes with her body.

I would consider myself an activist, though by no means my day job. I have
advocated, educated and agitated for the rights of people going back to the
60s, when I was a "baby Panther".

My hope is that there is a balanced perception of transwomen.

As a transwoman of color, if all I saw of Black people in the media was the
shucking and jiving, hip hopping, drug dealing, criminal sterotypes of my
people, I would not be happy.

Chiefly, because it does not accurately represent the full spectrum of Black
people.

Transwomen are my people too, and I want society to know that there are
many intelligent, talented women making significant contributions to society.

However, if society and the women themselves feel that they are only
capable of being engaged in the sex trade, or living on the fringes of
society, then that does not accurately portray us.

I've been hearing that there will soon be an advocacy group specifically for Trans women in the various forms of Sex Industry. I thoroughly applaud any organization that seeks to ensure that the trans women are as equally respected as everyone else in the porn industry. I really hope they will be able to bring about positive changes where others (myself included) have failed.
