Actually, Club 708 was never a strip club. It used to be a Transsexual club until it got shut down for some reason. In my opinion, I don't think this will do well because even though this is Atlanta, a predominantly Black city where Gay people and Transsexuals are slightly more tolerated in the Black community, this is still a city in the South and homophobia/ignorance still prevails immensely in the South. There are still down low fellas in Atlanta, even more now than when "down low" became a hot topic. So, I wish the club luck. I would really like to see it do well, not just for the club's sake, but this is an opportunity for a lot of girls who struggle to make money and attempt to change their lives. Truthfully speaking, I doubt it gets off the ground.

I disagree with Remy. The difference will be that it is a strip club. Now what happens outside the club might just be similar to the old 708. Lol. You may have a point. Lots of drivers-by looking for "special services" but I Dont think there will be very much patronage inside the club. I drove pass the club earlier tonight. That area has totally changed. Police units all over the place and streets packed with people coming from The Fox Theatre and all the restaurants they've established in the area. It has become a metropolitan area. No longer the area it used to be with vagabonds and prostitutes inundating the streets. We shall see though.

Dont mean to sound like im stereo-typing, but i suggest that if yall want this to have any kind of longevity, you STRONGLY monitor and control the 'champagne room' activity. That's gonna get your shit shut down with the quickness.

I've always liked the idea in itself, but, I don't think the clientel is out there in any city to support more than maybe 1-2 nights a week. Especially if there isn't any extra fun going on.

When I used the term homosexual in my previous post, I was using the term loosely. I lumped it all together, however, I do know that there is a difference and I definitely know that most homosexuals aren't in to transsexuals. Nevertheless, it's a whole lot more than "champagne room" activities that could possibly, and more likely, be the demise of the initiative. The mere fact is that Atlanta's reputation of the Black Gay Mecca is largely overestimated. It's simply not true. If you don't believe me, place 2 males in Southwest Atlanta, GA or Decatur, GA or College Park, GA or etc, GA displaying public affection and see what happens. Same difference if you place a transsexual (that is noticeable) and a man together displaying public affection as simple as holding hands or kissing and see what happens. Be my guest.....No, don't be my guest. Be my witness and come see for yourself. Don't believe the hype Rems. I've had two transgendered friends murdered right here in Atlanta due to posting an escorting ad and some ignorant fucks decided to call, set up a fake appointment just to shoot them in the head at point blank range as the girls opened the door. Two Remy, and those are just girls that I knew personally. It happens here quite often. Don't believe the "Atlanta Black Gay Mecca" hype. Just because they have lots of balls and shows here doesn't mean that mainstream Atlantans know about it. The few clubs that these events (balls and shows) happen in are located way out in Outskirt, GA somewhere tucked in a little corner.

Went to the strip club for the first time last night. All I gotta say is...........

I THINK THIS CLUB IS GOING TO BE A SUCCESS!!!! I had a blast!!! A great selection of girls that are fine as hell. They are all pretty and ladylike!!! Not to mention the stellar attitudes! All the girls were nice and pleasant. When I turned a girl or two down for a dance, they didn't get nasty and loud. They simply said "thank you daddy" and walked away! Every face had a smile on it. There's someone there for all tastes. If you like slim and petite women or if you like thick cut, it's all there. The audience was a mixture of Black and White men. The club is spacious with plenty of seating! The bar is excellent. The stage is positioned where everyone can enjoy the view. The girls even played around on the stage teasing the audience with playful trysts of the sexual kind. Most importantly for me is that there were no gay dudes prowling around inside or outside the club trying to pick up guys. To you fellas who are "down low" and worried about someone seeing you......the entrance of the club is on the side of the building and is very private and secluded. Park your car and there are no worries. There are so many other businesses and venues in the locale that no one will know where you're going when you're walking from your car to the club. I think it's a hit fellas!! For those from Atlanta and surrounding areas....come on out and support the girls man. It's the least you could do for the girls that are trying to do something to make money other than dangerous methods. I was like that for a long time in my life, but as I have come to accept the fact that I love transwomen almost as much as biological women, I have totally debunked the idea that something is "wrong" with me.
