I know in my area that the stroll isn't what it use to be.
I would always see fresh faces back in the day.
Do you see the stroll and escorting ad sites being fill with fresh faces this year due to the recession?

reality will dictate salary. if their regular clients have been affected by the economic down turn then they will be affected. i believe more folks will think before spending $250 an hour to bust a nut. girls will have to get creative with their pricing or start accepting credit cards i assume. this no different in theory than any other sales oriented profession. the girls know what their monthly obligations are and what they need to make in order to be good. if there numbers are low then yes, they might have to hit the street and work for quantity rather than quality. its all demand driven. if the girls suspect that the money has gone to the streets than thats where the majority of them will go. while some will still wait for that great white shark (mr fat wallet) many will survive off the little fish (the guy who haggles for a $40 blow job from his ford fusion)

Yeah $250 is definitely out the door. For the most part i just stay home unless its one of them rare opportunities. Which means i have to put away some dough cause i have seen some rare girls out on the ads. Too cold for the stroll right now up north in the tri-state.

The reasons the stroll is dead are: (1) increased police, and (2) internet avenues like CL.

I don't think the worsening economy will "return" the stroll; even before the recession there were lots of impoverished girls who would like to make money that way. What might happen is some downward pressure on prices. And CL, backpage, eros won't die unless the authorities kill them.

Remember the new 100K police that had bipartisan support ? BTW, the stimulus bill will pay for even more police. When you add more police, they have more time and resources to chase after lower-priority misdemeanor crimes like prostitution.

Probably the internet is the bigger factor. It's easy to put up an ad, and more girls are willing to do that then walk the stroll. Many guys are more willing to have a discrete rendezvous via internet. The girls all say they make a lot more money on the internet, and that they are less likely to get busted -- so it's a no-brainer for them.
