Since gay means, homosexual and homosexual means, "members of the same species attracted to other members of that species with the same physical sex", most tranny chasers could appropriately be called "gay" as well as their "transgender women" who still have a penis.
After further introspection, we discover that we really are even more attracted to the "Pre-op" transsexuals, than the "Post-op" transsexuals! That could possibly give rise to even greater suspicion about our "gayness".
I've grappled with this concept in the pass and finally had to eventually admit that I'm at least bisexual, if not "gay". After admitting it, I felt so much better after the next few years. It seemed to have released so much pressure. Of course, we all have to find our own way and perhaps this is not a word that you'd like to use in reference to yourselves. Hey, but that's ok! We'll all find our paths in due time.
We all have a right to see ourselves as we prefer to see ourselves, but the "bottom" line is that we are defined by society and its chosen vernacular utilized to sculpt the image that is easiest for it to see. Usually, these images are restricted to categories which confine the individual within the limits of the definitions, themselves.
