The response is neither ignorant nor should it be surprising. I made my response starting by saying I personally know and am cool with an older ts; I don't just need a ts to strut and "swish" (whatever that means). I also said, for most, according to what I've seen and heard from other ts, those are unfortunately, the 3 most likely paths. Death, as you know Seanchai, is a very unfortunate but possible end-game for any ts that escorts (not for those that don't).
