I Live Vicariously Through BF3!
The campaign has been a bit of a let down, taking the far more serious approach to story telling a la CoD opposed to the previous BF's tongue in cheek humor that led us through the tale of searching for gold laden crates a la Three Kings. Indeed, these crates were even a part of the multiplayer aspect and are now gone from both. While you can't take down a whole building during the single player outing, most everything that you encounter that might be used for cover can be totally destroyed, be it a vehicle, pillar, sandbags, office walls/desk, etc. I still find the story itself worth the play through due to the impressive visuals, but as usual with many games like this, most of us are coming primarily for the online play.
Vehicles do take time to learn how to control, but this is no different from the previous entries. Thankfully, as always you can parachute out at a moments notice if you have some deranged idiot at the controls lol If only for brief periods you will still control some of the vehicles in single player, which can serve as your primer for learning how to control them when you join your fellow soldiers on the online battlefield. By the way, there are multiple airplane sequences in the campaign, that offer some variety but I agree, it's not like playing the new Ace Combat, which I'm also playing with my flight stick. :D
