Society is very follow the leader and they accept what they see everybody else accpeting. Being gay and walking around openly gay and with a male partner in public is ok, why, because they gays got tired of hiding, and they manned the fuck up and stepped out to live their lives, now its accpeted and tolerated. Same for mixed race couples, fat folks and whatever else. As a transwoman, and seeing gay and straight people out in the open ,and happy, I relized something. Society isnt as accepting of us because the men we deal with aren't man enough to step up and say" This is what I like and fuck the world". Its sad that gays are more of a man than those dealing with ts. We arent holding ourselves back, the men who hide the fact that they like us are the ones holding us back. I'm 37 years old and I no longer find it acceptable to be used as a dirty secret or a sex toy or an atm machine. If you can't man the fuck up, and be seen with me, your bitchass will not get some head, dick or ass from me unless you pay me! I was just in NYC, and I was walking down the street and guys approached me in the open, and that was refreshing. The guy I did choose to deal with, walked around with me and took me to eat. Its a small and simple thing, but it meant alot to me.

The way to change that attitude of "society" is to just live a normal life. I disagree with you too gays are not accepted they are tolerated. We are as much a part of society as everyone else and we as transpersons have to do our part. Of course no one would respect us if I wasn't transexual I probably wouldnt either. Most people never come in contact with a transexual ever in their life. All they know about transexuals is what they see on Jerry and Maury so look at the impression our sisters are giving the world about who we are as people. I know you let me ask you this how many times are people shocked that you work, aren't running around trying to fool men and taking a females man. Me and you have hung tough and you live you learn and hopefully you grow we are at points in our lives where you start to see what really matters, my self esteem at this point wont allow me to be a dirty little secret and think its cute. I feel you but the problems the trans community face are largely due to us not doing what the gays and lesbians are doing. Your group and the group that Lois has is a start to transwomen empowering ourselves but on a whole all transexuals are concerned with is looking good and slaying the next bitch.

Its now "''ok" or as you say tolerated for 2 gfay men to walk together in public and its not that big of a deal. I was on the Red Line today on my way to see Grace, and 2 guys were sitting in front of me. One guy got up to get off and when he stood up, he bent down and kissed the other guy on the mouth, and nobody cared. My point is, gay men said fuck it, and they go about doin their thing in public, yet the men who deal with us, still keep us behind closed doors. Yes, living a normal life is refreshing on so many levels, just sometimes I want more out of men than sex.
