Actually, Club 708 was never a strip club. It used to be a Transsexual club until it got shut down for some reason. In my opinion, I don't think this will do well because even though this is Atlanta, a predominantly Black city where Gay people and Transsexuals are slightly more tolerated in the Black community, this is still a city in the South and homophobia/ignorance still prevails immensely in the South. There are still down low fellas in Atlanta, even more now than when "down low" became a hot topic. So, I wish the club luck. I would really like to see it do well, not just for the club's sake, but this is an opportunity for a lot of girls who struggle to make money and attempt to change their lives. Truthfully speaking, I doubt it gets off the ground.
This makes me want to pay a visit. But I agree with vidman -- better visit soon before they close down.
If it was once a trans club, I'd imagine it will do at least as well as it use to. Most people will already remember it for what it once was and be all the more inclined to check it out under it's new guise and enhanced 'official services'
I disagree with Remy. The difference will be that it is a strip club. Now what happens outside the club might just be similar to the old 708. Lol. You may have a point. Lots of drivers-by looking for "special services" but I Dont think there will be very much patronage inside the club. I drove pass the club earlier tonight. That area has totally changed. Police units all over the place and streets packed with people coming from The Fox Theatre and all the restaurants they've established in the area. It has become a metropolitan area. No longer the area it used to be with vagabonds and prostitutes inundating the streets. We shall see though.Quote:

Just reaching out on behave of Black Diamond Atlanta, Atlanta's first TS gentlemens lounge. As there lead dancer/spokes person I hope everyone comes out! Our grand opening is on the 24th of this month from 9-4am $25 admin... We have great things in store for this and a lot of support and backing from great people in atlanta. This is one of many ways we are trying to provide another outlet for our community to gain a safer form of income (if they would like) while providing a place men can go consistently to interact with beautiful TS face to face.
This will be a on going event that is just like any other gentlemens club (i.e table dances, lap dances etc and a full bar stocked with 1's lol) just with Beautiful TS women....the more support for great guys like you the better it will be... I like that it is designed to help provide the women working there another way to make income just like any other women that chooses to dance. I've always liked the idea in itself, but, I don't think the clientel is out there in any city to support more than maybe 1-2 nights a week. Especially if there isn't any extra fun going on.
I'm not sure what the schedule is like at Tranny Strip in NY but lots of girls and guys go there and they haven't been shut down, so long as this new spot in ATL maintains business as usual like Tranny Strip it should be fine.
I disagree once again with you Remy. You have to remember that New York is much more open minded than the "bible belt" south. Homosexual lifestyle is more widely accepted there than in Atlanta. The 708 club had it's premiere last night and I must admit that the turnout was dismal. Well I should be clear that I was referring to not getting shut down for "champagne room" activities specifically. While NY is a very "open" place compared to the south in general, ATL is referred to as the Black Gay Mecca for a reason. Also, while transsexuals intermingle with the overall LGBT community, transsexuals and homosexual lifestyle are two different things. Which is why you wont typically see many homosexuals using the girls "services" be it at ts strip clubs or anywhere else. More often than not any homosexuals at the venue are likely just supporting their friends, not really trying to get off to their image.Quote:

Went to the strip club for the first time last night. All I gotta say is...........
I THINK THIS CLUB IS GOING TO BE A SUCCESS!!!! I had a blast!!! A great selection of girls that are fine as hell. They are all pretty and ladylike!!! Not to mention the stellar attitudes! All the girls were nice and pleasant. When I turned a girl or two down for a dance, they didn't get nasty and loud. They simply said "thank you daddy" and walked away! Every face had a smile on it. There's someone there for all tastes. If you like slim and petite women or if you like thick cut, it's all there. The audience was a mixture of Black and White men. The club is spacious with plenty of seating! The bar is excellent. The stage is positioned where everyone can enjoy the view. The girls even played around on the stage teasing the audience with playful trysts of the sexual kind. Most importantly for me is that there were no gay dudes prowling around inside or outside the club trying to pick up guys. To you fellas who are "down low" and worried about someone seeing you......the entrance of the club is on the side of the building and is very private and secluded. Park your car and there are no worries. There are so many other businesses and venues in the locale that no one will know where you're going when you're walking from your car to the club. I think it's a hit fellas!! For those from Atlanta and surrounding areas....come on out and support the girls man. It's the least you could do for the girls that are trying to do something to make money other than dangerous methods.
