I doubt many. I know you have to go with an accomplished actress like (fine ass) Kerry Washington for the "main" role but how many real transgirls (not TVs or fakes) are in this? Lastly, did you hear the comment from, I guess, the casting director who said, "I told her you're too beautiful for this role." Damn joe! That's bogus too say there aren't tgirls out there as fine or nearly as fine as Kerry; we've got some on BTG or blasted in this forum. So, I'm reserving judgement on this one until I find out more.
So I did see it last night, on Starz.

I would say that it was formulaic, and the plot predictable.

Though I really did enjoy that the main theme of the movie centered around
Kerry Washington as a transwoman, they didn't quite cover all the nuances
of the things that a woman transitioning would go through. Additionally she
and "Ridley / Gabrielle" were the only transwomen who were really featured
in the movie.

As to the rest of the movie, it came across as a low budget Master P
production, something made for BET. Looked like they called Central
Casting, put everyone in dirty clothes, and tried to rely on "suspension of
disbelief" to sell the characters to the audience.

And since drug use and abuse was such a prominent feature of the movie,
someone should have told the actors how to feign being high.

Glad I saw it, would recommend it, but also glad I didn't fork over $10 at a
theatre, or have to pay to rent it.
