Well if nothing else, hinting that there might be any illegal activity in said "room" on an open forum could set investigations in motion even sooner.

I like that it is designed to help provide the women working there another way to make income just like any other women that chooses to dance. I haven't heard of anything illegal from the sources I've read or anything like a "champagne room" just opinions from sites. I do however know what people are referring to and it is to take caution so we can enjoy this for a while. From what Ms. Monroe posted its a gentlemen club like atmosphere. Whenever Im in town i'll definitely go and support it! I've sat down with Chanel 2 or 3 times and she is very smart and aware. I know she and the staff will make sure things are set in place to be handled right....thanks for reaching out to us mami its appreciated

I've always liked the idea in itself, but, I don't think the clientel is out there in any city to support more than maybe 1-2 nights a week. Especially if there isn't any extra fun going on.

I'm not sure what the schedule is like at Tranny Strip in NY but lots of girls and guys go there and they haven't been shut down, so long as this new spot in ATL maintains business as usual like Tranny Strip it should be fine.

I disagree once again with you Remy. You have to remember that New York is much more open minded than the "bible belt" south. Homosexual lifestyle is more widely accepted there than in Atlanta. The 708 club had it's premiere last night and I must admit that the turnout was dismal. I won't prematurely speak negatively about it because it was only the first night, but as I have said before.......Atlanta is still the South where Down-Low brothas are still a dime a dozen and a lot of finger pointing goes on if you're "found out." We shall see though.

Well I should be clear that I was referring to not getting shut down for "champagne room" activities specifically. While NY is a very "open" place compared to the south in general, ATL is referred to as the Black Gay Mecca for a reason. Also, while transsexuals intermingle with the overall LGBT community, transsexuals and homosexual lifestyle are two different things. Which is why you wont typically see many homosexuals using the girls "services" be it at ts strip clubs or anywhere else. More often than not any homosexuals at the venue are likely just supporting their friends, not really trying to get off to their image.

While Atlanta may be "known" as the Black Gay Mecca, don't be fooled. As I eluded to in an earlier post, don't let the rumors fool you. Atlanta is not as open as one who lives in a completely different city may think. I live here. Trust me, there is just as much hate crime against BGT occuring here as any other city that is "supposedly" homophobic. Brothers are still on the down low here, especially those "straight" guys that are transsexual follower/lovers.
When I used the term homosexual in my previous post, I was using the term loosely. I lumped it all together, however, I do know that there is a difference and I definitely know that most homosexuals aren't in to transsexuals. Nevertheless, it's a whole lot more than "champagne room" activities that could possibly, and more likely, be the demise of the initiative. The mere fact is that Atlanta's reputation of the Black Gay Mecca is largely overestimated. It's simply not true. If you don't believe me, place 2 males in Southwest Atlanta, GA or Decatur, GA or College Park, GA or etc, GA displaying public affection and see what happens. Same difference if you place a transsexual (that is noticeable) and a man together displaying public affection as simple as holding hands or kissing and see what happens. Be my guest.....No, don't be my guest. Be my witness and come see for yourself. Don't believe the hype Rems. I've had two transgendered friends murdered right here in Atlanta due to posting an escorting ad and some ignorant fucks decided to call, set up a fake appointment just to shoot them in the head at point blank range as the girls opened the door. Two Remy, and those are just girls that I knew personally. It happens here quite often. Don't believe the "Atlanta Black Gay Mecca" hype. Just because they have lots of balls and shows here doesn't mean that mainstream Atlantans know about it. The few clubs that these events (balls and shows) happen in are located way out in Outskirt, GA somewhere tucked in a little corner.

Transsexual deaths by violence happen in all the major metros, even those that are more open. Ignorant fucks are everywhere regardless of the locale, but I do admit the South is more close-minded in general. Regardless, I was referring to the "champagne room" because that is what TheGreat1 was talking about.
Whether mainstream America knows of Atlanta's gay population and events doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. They have simply no care in those matters. The fact is many black gays call the area home, and their acceptance by anyone is irrelevant.

Do some google searches, you will see why there are cities with a higher gay population overall, Atlanta has the highest black gay population.
