I have been thinking about my own question. What I posted earlier, while true, was the fascination of a young man. What attracts me transgendered women is their spirit, their strength, and courage. I cannot imagine what it must feel like to be born in the wrong body, nor do I know if I did feel this, which I don't, if I would have the courage to become what I feel I am on the inside. Being gay in the United States in difficult, although it has become slightly easier,but to be a transgendered person is still not acceptable. Transgendered women are considered by many as being less than human. Someone who is a freak, and someone that can be the subject of ridicule. For many, the possiblity of violence is an everyday reality, and there have been many who have been killed, because they were transsexual. Venus Xtravaganza comes to mind. She was a young transsexual woman who desired more than anything to live a normal life. She wanted a husband and a family, but her life was cut short by someone who she went to a motel, because she was supporting herself as a prostitute. She was found three days after she was murdered. For many, this is an every day possiblity. I have read every topic on this board, and I have noticed that some people refer to their attraction to transgendered women as a fetish. I think that this is degrading,because a person cannot be a fetish. If you look up the standard definition of a fetish, only objects can become a fetish, for example shoes, leather etc. Despite the myriad of obstacles that transgender women face, many each day decide to live their lives with integrity by not hiding who they are to the world. They can serve as an inspiration to all of us. They do inspire me. They also do not take their feminityfor granted like many gentic women do. Transgender women must go through a gautlet to acheive their feminity. I have read that a complete transformation cost up to $100,000 or more. This is not covered by insurance. There is no wonder why many choose to be escorts. A person could not make enough money to cover this type of surgery. I watched America's Next Top Model, because a young transgender woman named Isis was one of the competitors. While Tyra treated her respectfully, the other girls did not really accept her. I saw this young woman's confidence erode as a result. My attraction to transgender women has become admiration.

The attraction to me is in a girls face be she GG or TG, it's their face that initiates the initial attraction. That coupled with a good personality and ability to conversate in an intelligent manner goes way further than huge tits, cock, ass, or pussy.

I don't mean to knock anyone's choice of lifestyle when I say this. I find the term 'normal' to be complete bullshit. You used 'normal' in a way that imparts the idea that it is defined by social acceptance. (ex. "She was a young transsexual woman who desired more than anything to live a normal life.") I am one who goes against the grain of society so I admit my view is a bit skewed. We as humans are imparted with a concious sentient mind (free will) if you will, allowing us to be unique individuals instead of carbon-copies like ants in a colony. Thus it is quite 'normal' to be as varied as possible, and it is societial pressures that lead us to conform to a set standard.

Anyway, it is a complete folly to be a 'tg' prostitute and expect to be treated any different than a 'gg' prostitute, who run the same risk of physical harm if not greater if they have a 'pimp' who may occasionally beat on her to keep her 'in-line'.

Cost associated with transitioning is different for everyone and what expectations they have for themselves. Not all tg's desire or need to have the vast cosmetic surgeries many tgirls go through. Remember cosmetic surgery isn't covered by Insurance for nearly anyone. I know a white tg who goes to film school in Philly. She has already had a great majority of the procedures she wishes to have surgerically without ever 'escorting' and still paying her way through college and she isn't even 25 yet. What she did was real simple too. She saved up every red cent she made growing up with little to no bills while living with parents, before 'coming out' as a tg and when she was ready to put on her proverbial 'dress and step into the world' as a female she had more than enough to help pay for her transition. I'm sure it helps that she doesn't chase the materialistic things in life, like overly expensive 'labels' from the hottest clothing designers and such. She focuses on her education and her film career which has already taken off, as she serves as Producer and Director for various Film Projects.

Tgirls choose to escort, they are not forced to do it. They are attracted to the fast, seemingly easy cash. Though I don't wish bad on anyone, any form of 'criminal enterprise' is bound to be dangerous. Thus to escort is to court with that danger. They have to be smart about their business to be successful at it and most are, but there are always times when someone may slip up. No one stops a 'tg' from getting a regular 9 to 5 job or going to school and getting an education. Frankly, I get tired of the excuses for 'tricking'. Especially when I've seen older tg's who aren't even close to being as passable as some of our models, are working jobs. Transitioning is a hard road for sure, there's no doubt about it, but many put additional hardships on themselves and those 'hardships' doesn't come from society at large. Society has made many strides at excepting tgirls, and many of the horror stories you hear (which I don't condone in any way, shape, or form) rarely paint the full picture of what might have actually happened.

Thank you for your contribution to this discussion. When I wrote normal, I was going by what she said. Like you, I like living outside of the mainstream, and I do not go by what mainstream society thinks. I also think that you have a point about employment. Perhaps, there are some transgendered women who think that they do not have any other options. I hope that some of the transgender women on the board will share their prospectives.

Im always present reading the interesting topics, I choose not to respond alot because im one of the sites favorite and i know that i can sometimes get ulgy. I would like to give the gentlemen some advice! Once you can stop dealing with the insecurities of you commiting to a transgender ,than you will be able too!!!!!!! Ive been in a commited realtionship for two years now, tranny doesnt exist in our vocabulary, not saying he doesnt acknowledge who i am, but he loves who i am enough not to label me! Having been around for a while I know that OBJECTIFICATION & ADORATION is the most many men will ever feel for us. I am at a point in my life that how I feel about myself and see myself is more important than what any man, woman or child feels about it.

I used to be very vocal and have to always convince folks that I am a worth valid human being like everyone else. You teach children when they are young and when they grow older they will have a better understanding. I am not cynical and open to what ever I just say I accept stuff as it is what it is. Too many folks are consumed with what they dont have and what they want and I just celebrate my life and enjoy what I have. I believe there are good guys out there hell I know a lot of them they just arent here or arent for me. But as a whole and I don't entirely blame men we will be just eye candy and fetish to the majority of men until guys and girls both have a change of atttitude.
