In no way have I been disrespectful towards you. I have only wanted to know your impetus for your feelings towards black women. If you took my words as disrespectful aggressive then allow me to be the first to apologize. I know from my own experiences that I've made generalizations about things and people, of which later on down the line I ended up eating my words. All I'm proposing, Stef, is don't make preconceived notions about everyone based on the few experiences you have had or based on what you've heard or seen on some reality television show because those are only pre-selected microcosms that don't really give a true indication of the real picture. I see what you mean, when you used the phrase "spring chicken" I thought you were referring to 'age'. Even still, she hasn't worked that 10 yrs consecutively. She took a 6 year hiatus. ;)

I feel you. I guess I'm just so touchy about it because I know the harm that generalizations and stereotypes do. Just look around in society. Why does most of white society feel like Treyvon Martin was a menace and that Zimmerman acted in self defense? Because he was a black boy wearing a hoody. So the stereotype or generalization is........a black boy in a hoody MUST be a thug or up to no good. See what I mean?
